Heather, our host for the last week of 10 weeks competition has read my mind. On Monday, I just upload this photo below on my blogspot to represent my fav song.
Picture taken am Deich, Havenwelten, Bremerhaven, Germany Taken on June 25th, 2008 Canon EOS 400D - Canon Kitlens EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 Focal Length 55.0mm - Manual Program - Daylight 1/400 at f/8.0 - ISO 100 - Flash off - Handheld Contrast adjustment and Labeled
I Wish You Were Here
I dig my toes into the sand The ocean looks like a thousand diamonds strewn across a blue blanket I lean against the wind, pretend that I am weightless And in this moment I am happy Happy
I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were... here
I lay my head onto the sand The sky resembles a back-lit canopy with holes punched in it I'm counting UFO's, I signal them with my lighter And in this moment I am happy Happy
I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were... here Wish you were here
The world's a rollercoaster And I am not strapped in Maybe I should hold with care But my hands are busy in the air Sayin
I wish you were here I wish you were... I wish you were here I wish you were here I wish you were... here Wish you were here
shadow: 1. a dark figure or image cast on the ground or some surface by a body intercepting light. 2. shade or comparative darkness, as in an area. 3. shadows, darkness, esp. that coming after sunset. etc (read more here).
So for this week Picture Perfect: Shadow, I will post my entries according to definition number one (1) and (3). Yup, I will cheat this time by submitting 2 photos :-D

The second photo below was taken last week when Bremerhaven was sunny. It's my very first sunset picture. In this picture, I implemented what I read about bracketing and used the facility that my camera give: autobracketing. To read more story about my first sunset picture, please visit my album: Autobracketing: Sunset in Bremerhaven.

In photography, bracketing is the general technique of taking several shots of the same subject using different or the same camera settings. Bracketing is useful and often recommended in situations that make it difficult to obtain a satisfactory image with a single shot, especially when a small variation in exposure parameters has a comparatively large effect on the resulting image. (Wikipedia)
Autobrakecting is a feature of some more advanced cameras, whether film or digital cameras, particularly single-lens reflex cameras, where the camera will take several successive shots (usually three) with slightly different settings. (Wikipedia)
It's been a week that I'm dying to photograph sunset. Too bad, Bremerhaven has always been cloudy. Today (15.02.2008), the sun shines brightly... but the lazy devil inside my mind told me to stay at home.
10 minutes before 5 (30 minutes before the sun will set), I saw the beautiful color in the sky outside my bedroom window. Directly I grabbed my camera and tripod and packed them into my backpack (of course after I bundled up myself.. though sunny, the weather was pretty cold).
I ran to catch my first sunset.
Since from the literature I read through the net that it's hard to say which exposure is good to capture the sunset, I used autobracketing provided by my camera. I set it -1 0 +1 and made it continue shooting.
I captured all these pictures without using tripod. Yup! It's only a bulky in my bag. I was to lazy to prepare it. It was cold, damn cold. Thanks God I didn't get frost bite *LOL*
Since I took the pictures, you have to choose which one is your favorite (if there is any). Enjoy my very first sunset pictures.
Feed back are most welcome. Still don't have idea how to capture it. Thanks!

The picture below was also taken on 1st of December 2007 like my entry for last picture perfect when the weather was not that good and the wind was strong.
This is our new Deutches Auswandererhaus (German Emigration Center), more unique, modern and bigger than the old one. I've been in the old one at my first year in Hochschule Bremerhaven around 5 years ago. Why I choose this building to be my entry for picture perfect with around the world as theme? The answer is because in this building you can treasure the history of the European emigrants who left Europe to the New World (America, Canada, South America and Australia) between 1830 and 1974.
The official website of Deutsches Auswandererhaus wrote that: Between 1821 and 1914 a total of 44 million Europeans left their homeland. Alone 7.2 million people left for the New World via Bremerhaven between 1830 and 1974 - among them 3.7 million Germans, 3.4 million Eastern and South-Eastern Europeans, as well as 100,000 Scandinavians all searching for a better life. (www.dah-bremerhaven.de)
Then I think, this is the perfect picture for intepreting the theme "Around The World".

It was on the beginning of December 2007 when I felt like hunting photos around Bremerhaven, the city where I live for the past 5 years. It was cold and windy, the velocity of wind was around 45km/h.
This is a new building of our Art Galery. The old one soon will be a part of our university (if I'm not mistaken). When I saw this new building, I couldn't help myself but capturing it directly (eventhough I had to fight against the wind). I love the contrast of the wall, the letter and the street below. I took four set of this photos, and this is my choice for Picture Perfect: Contrast.

26.06.07, dari pagi Bremerhaven berangin dan diiringi hujan rintik-rintik. Pagi hari angin masih berkisar 25 km/jam (pokoknya diatas 20 itu artinya angin kenceng ajah), begitu beranjak siang.. kecepatan angin bertambah menjadi 44 km/jam. Sore menjelang malam, kecepatan berkisar diangka 58 km/jam disertai hujan.
On Wednesday 16.05.07 I went to Hamburg to visit my best friend Novita and to buy some goods from Toko Indonesia. Since some of my friends in Bremen and Bremerhaven asked me to buy them something from there, so I bought a lot of things like kecap Bango, kecap ABC, saus sambal ABC, Belibis, cap Jempol, cuka, teh botol, dll. My backpack was full and heavy, so I called si Tukang Dongeng to pick me up in the train station.
These photos below are taken by Tukang Dongeng while waiting for me.
